All Black Ink Set Ink Message
I get a Set Ink Message when Installing All Black Ink cartridges. If your Epson wide format printer shows a message “Set Ink” it’s telling you it can not read the computer chip on the cartridge. The chip on the cartridge is either not making a good contact, the programming needs to be reset, or it’s damaged (static electricity charge, for example).
Remove and replace the cartridge(s) to improve the chip contact. Inspect the chip for defects.
Clean (carefully so you do not damage them) the gold contacts on the chip using rubbing alcohol to remove any oil or grease.
If the above does not resolve the issue…
Use a chip resetter designed for your ALL BLACK cartridges (available online or through your reseller). Not every chip resetter will work properly so use the Resetter recommended by Freehand.
Replace the problem cartridge with a different cartridge.
Note:
Do not be heavy handed when working with chip resetters. You could damage the chip contacts.
