Sharing the AccuRIP Emerald printer driver across your local network is a powerful ability that increases productivity with no added cost.
Sharing AccuRIP from a host Windows 8 or 10 PC to multiple Macs on the same local network is simple to set up.
At the time of making this video Windows 11 does not support sharing to Mac.
On the host Windows PC open Control Panel then “View devices and printers”.
Right click the AccuRIP printer driver then choose Printer Properties.
Go to the sharing tab and check “Share this printer”.
On a Mac you wish to share the AccuRIP printer driver to download the AccuRIP Emerald PPD file for Mac from your My Account on solutionsforscreenprinters.com
Place the PPD file in the Printer Resources folder of the Mac Hard Drive.
Open System Preferences, go to Printers & Scanners, then click the Plus Icon to add a printer.
Go to the Windows Tab.
Select Workgroup, the host PC, then enter the log in information for that PC.
Select the AccuRIP Printer Driver.
In the “Use” drop down menu choose “Other”, click “AccuRIPEmerald.PPD”, then click ok. Click Add.
That’s it, you’re all set to print with a shared AccuRIP driver.
A quick tip: If you want prints to print without having to approve the proof positive preview, on the host PC open AccuRIP, go to Preferences to turn on Bypass Preview.
