Changing the name of a printer driver might seem enticing but doing so will make AccuRIP Emerald unable to find it.

Emerald searches your computer cataloging recognized printer driver names.

Keeping the default manufacturer’s driver name usually avoids communication errors.

Already changed the name and not sure what it should be? Or Emerald not seeing your certified printer?

Go to the print setting directory for emerald:

Mac: Applications/AccuRIP Emerald/Contents/Resources/printsettings
PC: C:\Program Files (x86)\Bluironic Technologies\AccuRIP Emerald\printsettings

Find the .bin file with the printer model name in it. Rename the current printer driver to the name used in the print settings .bin file. For example for the Canon iX6820 the associated .bin file is Canon iX6800 series_ABI.bin and/or Canon iX6800 series_MONO.bin. Canon iX6800 series is what these two .bin files have in common, the ABI and/or MONO can be ignored in this case. So the printer driver name should be Canon iX6800 series.

Emerald will find and use that driver every time.
