Epson Driver Printing AccuRIP Not Printing

A printer driver allows a computer to communicate with a printer.

A genuine manufacturer printer driver will always give the best performance.

Windows will sometimes install a generic printer driver. AccuRIP requires a genuine Epson printer driver.

The best way to avoid accidental install of a generic Windows driver is to install the genuine Epson driver before connecting the printer to a computer or network.

Able to print through the Epson driver but not through AccuRIP? Windows may have automatically installed a generic driver.

Let’s check the driver:

  • Open Control Panel
  • Go to Devices and Printers
  • Right click the Epson printer
  • Click “Printer properties”
  • Go to the Advanced tab

If the driver displayed for the printer shows “ESC/P-R” then Windows installed a generic driver.

Let’s remove the generic driver:

  • Close Printer Properties
  • Right click the printer
  • Click “Remove device”
  • Click Yes

Now install the Epson driver:

  • Go to
  • Go to the Support page
  • Search for the printer model
  • Download and install the driver
  • Open AccuRIP
  • Go to Run Configuration Wizard

If the displayed driver is a genuine Epson driver:

  • Delete the AccuRIP driver
  • Restart computer and printer
  • Open AccuRIP
  • Choose Run Configuration Wizard
