All Freehand software (Separations Studio NXT and AccuRIP Emerald) is certified by Apple to be compatible with Mac OS. Use it with confidence.

So why the warning messages saying the software can’t be opened because it was not downloaded from the app store? Apple has elevated security settings that warn users of just about everything to protect Apple from liability. This is becoming more common.

This is a soft warning meaning Apple gives you the ability to proceed even without entering an admin password.

Here’s how:

After receiving the message click OK.

Then open System Preferences.

Navigate to Security & Privacy.

Click Open Anyway.

While you’re here you can also choose to allow apps from the App Store and identified developers like Freehand to run in the future.

Another warning about Freehand’s software not being from the App Store will appear.

Click Open.

You can now close System Preferences and continue the installation.

Happy printing.

Freehand and you together we got this.
