AccuRIP Ripcore Errors
There are two forms of Ripcore Errors messages and the fixes are simple:
“Unable to connect to ripcore” or “Lost Connection to Ripcore”
Note: Some Mac users (Mac users only) may not see any message (see below).
Simple fix: A previous file with a PostScript Error has damaged a file. Clearing that file resets the program.
1). “Unable to connect to ripcore” message appears on screen when OPENING AccuRIP. AccuRIP closes when you click the message. A previous bad postscript print file is stuck in the OS print system.
(Windows only)
Check first to see if the Ripcore Service has been turned off, either by a firewall software setting or user. From the RUN accessory (Press and hold the Windows keyboard button and letter “R” simultaneously) enter “services.msc”. Locate the Ripcore service. If it is not turned on “Start” the service, then open AccuRIP. If it is ON (Started) see the links below, follow the directions (Windows) to resolve.
(Mac only)
This can sometimes happen to Mac users, you ONLY see the AccuRIP Menu, no other menus appear and/or AccuRIP never opens on screen. You didn’t get an on-screen error message. A simple procedure to clean out a damaged file will resolve the issue. See the links below, follow the directions (Mac) to resolve.

2). “Lost Connection to Ripcore” message appears on screen each time you print a file. AccuRIP OPENS, but an error message appears “Lost connection to Ripcore” each time you print the file. The issue is within the file itself and NOT with the software. There is a postscript error crashing the Postscript engine. The answer is to locate and resolve the postscript issue.
Things to try:
a. Restart the computer and print. Open AccuRIP (AccuRIP auto resets). From the File Menu in AccuRIP print a Test page to prove the RIP is operating properly.
b. Still need to print that same file that gave the error? Try these steps: “copy and paste” the file to a NEW blank document and convert all fonts (Curves or Outlines). Does it print now? You likely had a postscript error in the font and or the page itself.
c. Still did not print properly? Recreate the art, simplify the design to avoid the postscript error.
